Gaby & Stuart Hill help explain the new Asda plans in Nov

A meeting was held at St Matthew’s Church Hall on 21st Nov for anyone concerned about the impact of the proposed Asda at Silverhill. The meeting was organised by Gaby and Stuart Hill, assisted by Caroline Robertson. Matthew Lock, county councillor for St. Helens and Silverhill, also addressed the audience. About 60 people braved a cold, dark night to attend the meeting, where the amended plans were on view.
Stuart Hill read out letters of objection from various bodies including the Environmental Agency, the Highway Authority, and Stagecoach. The audience was told that the earliest date for the plans coming before HBC’s planning meeting is Jan 7th. The objectors are planning a demonstration against the proposal.
