James gets Xmas ramp

James keen to start work on another vehicle

James keen to start work on another vehicle

New owner of Bohemia Motors, James Clarke, is only twenty years old but already has fifty-four (!) City and Guild qualifications, all on car maintenance, and all on different makes of car. James believes in top quality work, using the best tools that there are, and takes a pride in giving an excellent service.
James took over the business, in Upper South Road, last September. As well as building up his own business, he had to contend with the “problems left behind by the previous owner”, who seems to have done a moonlight flit owing money to numerous creditors.
Trade was slow at first, but is beginning to pick up as word is getting round from James’s satisfied customers. He believes in hard work, and will even work on a car on Sundays if necessary. A customer wanted a car finished quickly so he could get to Brighton Hospital to see his wife. James worked on it late that same night and again early the next morning. When the man came in later that morning, he said, “Any luck, Sir?” and James just held up the keys!
Another customer phoned James to say she had broken down on the A271 on the way to Devon. James went out and found her, even though she was not actually on the A271, and did a running repair, using a spare part that he made at his premises before he left. He promised to finish the job when the customer came back from Devon, and did. She was so pleased she recommended him to a friend, who sent their car round.
“He won’t let anybody down,” says his business partner, who also happens to be his grandmother. “There’s not one job that beats him!”
What did she give James for Christmas? A new ramp, especially purchased from America, which lifts cars up in the air making it easier to get underneath.
