Artemis Nursery

The Greek Goddess Artemis, (protector of women and children), has arrived in Chapel Park Road. Artemis Nursery opened for business at the end of August and takes children from birth to five years of age. The six staff can manage a maximum of 30 full-time children (at present they have 32 part-time children, equivalent to about nine or ten full-time). The new venture has been set up by  Lee Buggy (32) in charge of sales and marketing, husband Dominic (32), who looks after the finance, and Emma Buggy (31) who has worked in London nurseries and manages Artemis. For children between the ages of three and five years, Artemis provides an impressive curriculum for the foundation stage of education. This includes personal, social and emotional development; communication, language and literacy development; maths; knowledge and understanding of the world; physical development and creative development. For children in the age range 0-2 years, there is one staff for every three children; for 2-3 year olds, the ratio is 1:4, and for 3-5 year olds it is 1:8.
