BAA September meeting

Meeting held at YMCA, Thursday 6 Sept 2007. The Chairperson wondered whether our two Counc-illors were having difficulties attending on the first Thurs in the month. It was agreed to change to the third Thursday. It was also agreed to make Bohemia Road this year’s principal campaign. Invitations will be sent to Peter Pragnell, Council leader, and Peter Mead of H.B.C. This is not the first time that Bohemia Road has been our campaign. We must ensure this time there is success. Councillor Andrew Cart-wright gave a full account of his work during the holiday period. His address contained details of illegal lorry parking in Bohemia Road, alleyways, street cleaning, hanging baskets, Conservation Area status, the twin-bins scheme, St Paul’s school, issues regarding two shops in Bohemia Road, Newgate Fields, Aldborough Road and its repaired drain, Upper Clarence Road, business rates, an extra pedestrian crossing in Bohemia Road and 2 refuse bins to be sited at the southern end of Bohemia Road. Bohemia in Bloom competition results were announced: best garden was 45, Cornfield Terrace and Best Window Box was 10a Tower Road. The Chair-person encouraged members to be active in membership renewal and recruitment before the change of the clocks. Next meeting: Thurs 18 Oct, at the YMCA, 7.00pm.  Peter Holland, Chairperson.
