Bohemia Village Voice  Bohemia Village Voice

For bohemians everywhere

In Short

Brittany Road
Planning permission is being sought to demolish the existing prefab garages at 23 Brittany Road and replace them with a new garage at the rear of the property. The applicant is Mr P. Pattenden, who lives at the same address.
Art exhibition
The art exhibition held in January of this year at the offices of the Bohemia Village Voice raised nearly £600. The show, which featured over a hundred paintings and other works by local artist Ronald Beauchamp was a great success. The money has been donated to Ron’s favourite charities, the Cats’ Protection League and the Blue Cross Animal Sanctuary at Northiam. The exact amount raised was £592.25. Thanks to all those who supported the show and bought paintings or wood carvings.

Lidl CCTV
Bohemia Road supermarket Lidl have recently installed CCTV in their store. According to Deputy Store Manager Robert Broadstock, the new technology has been fitted in response to a problem they have with shoplifting. ‘In 2006 more than £100,000 worth of stock was stolen from the store,’ says Robert, ‘We’re hoping this system will help us bring that figure down.’ Unfortunately, the company still has no plans to put cameras in the car park, so fingers crossed that the problems we reported earlier this year (issue 45, February) don’t reoccur.
