De Cham Road resident William McInally is planning a parachute jump  at Headcorn Airfield in Kent on Saturday 28th July, in aid of the charity Epilepsy Action. First-time jumper William says, ‘My son Luke will be four on 5th July, and he suffers from epilepsy, and my brother died two years ago at the age of 36 as a result of it. I decided on a parachute jump, rather than the usual bungee jump, because it’s a bit different, and hopefully I’ll get more sponsors.’ William says he has so far raised around £400 for the charity, an amount which should have climbed steeply after a raffle held at Hastings and St Leonards Angling Club, on the Old Town seafront, at the end of June. William will also have a stall at Warrior Square Gardens during the St Leonards Festival on Saturday 14th July. Following the jump two weeks later, a presentation at the angling club will see all the money raised handed over to Epilepsy Action, to be put toward the cost of advice services for people with the condition and special ID cards for children with epilepsy.
