A new business has moved into the garage at Salisbury Yard on Salisbury Road. Cassidy’s Car Mechanics are open from Monday to Saturday and offer a full range of services, including MOTs.
FURNITURE CORNER
Furniture Corner has vacated the premises at 76 Bohemia Road, on the corner of Tower Road, and moved across the A21 to no. 69. The Voice spoke to owner John Brown in early March, shortly after the move. He said he planned to re-open ‘in a couple of weeks’, with a new stock including mirrors, glitzy furniture and other showy stuff.
LORD’S OFFER
A local Lord has offered the Voice two websites – in exchange  for £4,000 of advertising. He explained that his brother, an IT expert, owns the sites (bohemiavillagevoice.com and bohemiavillagevoice.co.uk) and is hoping to do a deal. No harm in that of course. But the Voice already owns ‘bohemiavillage.com’ which it will be developing as soon as possible. So, thank you, your Lordship, but no thanks.
HORNTYE PARK
Rumours are rife that Horntye Park Sports Complex is so short of funds that it’s considering selling part of its site in Bohemia (a strip of land along Bohemia Road) for development as retirement flats. When the Voice asked centre manager Kevin Miller if the stories were accurate, he said ‘No, it’s not strictly true. We’re not a rich place. I can’t really comment. Let’s say I’m not in a position to comment. If I’ve got something to say, I’ll let you know.’
