Ultra short stories arrive

Entries for our ultra short story competition have begun to trickle in. We now have a total of four entries, including Day at the Seaside, The Only Explanation and Terra Firma. Any reader or anyone who lives, works or studies in Bohemia, may enter. Schoolchildren from our three local schools (St Paul’s, Christchurch and St Mary, Star of the Sea) have been invited to submit entries. The stories must not be more than 250 words in length and can be on any theme. Closing date is Wednesday 28 February 2007. Prizes of £25, £10 and £5 are offered. All stories will be read by a nine-strong panel including book editor Julian Beecroft, bookshop owner Clive Linklater, writer and translator, Bill Third, magazine editor Shelagh Davy, chair of the Bohemia Area Association Peter Holland, artist Allena Tyrell, residents John E Humphries and Jacky Hayles and ultra short story writer Peter Winder. Please send entries to Bohemia Village Voice, 79, Bohemia Road, Sussex, TN376RJ. E-mail submission is perfectly acceptable: john@johnhumphries.f2s.com
