Arm and a leg for broken window
How much does it cost to repair a window? “An arm and a leg,” according to Kevin Miller, general manager of Horntye Park Sports Complex. A ‘Nationwide’ cherry-picker was used this week to remove a small pane of double glazing from the conical skylight above the dining room at the centre. “One of the windows got cracked in the recent storm,” said Kevin, “and we are having it removed and boarded up. Handyman Building Services of Robertsbridge are carrying out the work, and they’ll be putting up scaffolding when the new window is installed. Only the outer skin of the double glazing was cracked and the second skin stopped any rain getting in. The weathervane is also damaged and we’re hoping to get that repaired at the same time.”
