Len Gray to leave Bohemia Motors.

Well-known local garage mechanic Len Gray is hanging up his spanners. Len, who has worked at Bohemia Motors in Upper South Road for the last 26 years, (sixteen of them for current owner Ray Morgan), is planning to retire on December 31. “I shall be 65 in February next year,” said Len, “and I’m looking forward to retirement.” Will he sit around doing nothing? “No, my cousin has offered me  a couple of hours a day, at his place in Ponswood, probably just sweeping up and the like.” Will he miss the garage? “Yes and no. It’s got far too technical these days – it’s hard to keep up.” Before his quarter century at Bohemia Garage, Len was at Skinners for 24 years. “I’ve basically only had two jobs in my life.”
  Len lives in Clive Vale and has been married for 45 years to Pam. They have two children, a son aged 42, and a daughter, 41.
