Newspaper delivery ‘boy’ and great-grandfather, Ernie Moore, 82, retired yesterday. Ernie has finally hung up his fluorescent blue bag for the last time. He has become a regular sight, trudging the streets of Bohemia as Wood’s Newsagents’ paper delivery boy. 
 Dorothy Wood, poured fulsome praise on her paper ‘boy’ of many years standing. “He’s a  good reliable man, very honest, very trustworthy, and we love him to bits and we are going to miss him terribly,” she said. After many years of good service he’s decided to hang up his paperbag and to put his feet up. He’s been with Dorothy for about 16 years. “He’s done very well – he’s never, ever, let us down.” Ernie will put his feet up and spend a little bit more time with his 8 year old greatgrand-daughter, Jasmine. He takes her to school, and picks her up again in the afternoon to take her home.
  “His friends in the ‘A21 Cafe’ will miss him, as he spends a lot of time in there. He goes in there every morning for his breakfast and then again for his lunch,” Dorothy continued.
  “He’s a really kind man, I could not ever find fault with him in anything he ever did or said. He’s been a very loyal friend to us. Ernie is a great walker, even after he was ill with sciatica, and had to use a stick. He still gets about a lot – he walks almost everywhere.”
  Dorothy added “If you ever see him catch a bus, you know he’s not very well, and that’s not very often. He’s a very strong person. He used to be a builder in his younger days. He delivered to all of Bohemia, including Tower Road West, and right down to the police station, Magdalen Road, Church Road, St Paul’s Road and Horntye Road.”
