The Locals

There are some who come from London

Who think they know a thing or two.

There are some who come from Cornwall

Who are pretty sure they do.

There are some who come from Scotland,

And some who come from Wales,

There are even some from Ireland

Who can tell us Irish tales.

But by far the most intriguing

Are the ones who come from here;

For they know just what you’re thinking

So you’ve every cause to F E A R.

They’re the people born in Sussex,

They’re Sussex born and bred.

They’re strong in arm and muscle,

Tho’ silly in the head.

But don’t think you can rule them,

Or treat them from above;

For they’re people born in Sussex,

And Sussex won’t be druv.
