146 London Road – an eyesore?

Concerned Resident writes (Jan 2008)

Dear Sir,

This building is an eyesore – a building in decay. I am sure many of your readers have seen it [just north of the NatWest Bank, opposite Gordon Busbridge in London Road] and passed by without a care. Back in the 1980s it was a dental surgery.

It flourished for a short time, with tenants at all three levels of the building. It is now unloved and uncared for and does not help to keep our part of the Bohemia Conservation Area tidy. There is cracked and broken masonry, part of the front wall is broken off, electricity meters are exposed and dangerous – just waiting for a child to ‘play’ with.

Cannot the local authority be encouraged to take responsibility for this sad building and tidy it up?

Concerned resident (name and address withheld).
