Pedestrian Crossing needed in Bohemia Road

Fab writes (Nov 2006)

Hi, I would like to say that a pedestrian crossing is urgently needed for Bohemia Road at its junction with Upper Park Road. It could be located opposite Alldays Supermarket or opposite Park Road Church. The present situation is very dangerous with traffic turning from North Road into Bohemia Road and from there into Upper Park Road. Fab, 35a, St Peter’s Road.

Dear Sir, I was interested in the letter from Fab, 35a St Peters Road in [issue 41, 4 Nov] regarding a crossing at Bohemia Road and the junction with Upper Park Road. The problem is all down to ignorance regarding the reading of road signs, and Hastings Council has obviously not helped! When approaching the junction at the roundabout just after Busbridges, the road sign signifies ahead for A21, and right for the town. For some reason the sign is so far back that motorist read it that it means turn right in to North Rd for the town! North Rd should be one-way, no entry from the south end, making all traffic use the loop back in to Bohemia Rd. The situation that Fab refers to would not then exist! D. Keyse, Amherst Road.
