A ‘Voice’ for Ore Village?

Aubrey Ingleton writes (Sep 2008)

Dear Sir, I am involved in the Ore Valley Action group and the Speckled Wood group and I run a local lunch club. I have seen a copy of the Bohemia Village Voice, and I’d like to say how lovely it is. I think Ore Village would benefit greatly from such a publication, but I’m not sure how we would go about it. Could you give us some guidelines? Aubrey Ingleton, Ticehurst Close, Ore Village.

Thanks for the kind words Aubrey. The ‘Voice’ is written and put together by volunteers, but we pay for printing, distribution and office overheads. Our only source of income is advertising which just about allows us to break even. The main thing is to start. You can get a lot of news onto a single sheet of A4. It’s important to get the first edition actually written and to run off some copies. You can ask local shopkeepers to put some on their counters (the shops in Bohemia have been incredibly supportive). Once you’ve published a few editions you can then try for some advertising. It’s great fun and a real service to the community. Good luck! – ed.
