Outrageous Decadence Ball

By Liz Maynard (Feb 2011)

St Leonards and Hastings took part in a fantastic evening of entertainment and dancing this New Year’s Eve after the Outrageous Decadence team decided to put on a night to remember at The Assembly Rooms in Burton St Leonards.

Two hundred bohemian merrymakers turned out in all their flamboyant finery, ranging from slick suits and cocktail dresses to glittery disco divas to the outright surreal. The night kicked off with Bob Ents’ Bingo, followed by Naomi Lovett’s wonderfully exotic dancing. The Lambrini Sisters delighted the crowd with their ukulele take on well-known classics and Dusty’s dance moves left little to the imagination! DJ Moritzi, Pink Minx and Bob Ents provided an eclectic mix of party tunes and kept the crowd dancing into the early hours of 2011.

As if all that wasn’t enough, an enchanted forest room gave party-goers a magical space to enjoy some wonderful early French pop videos, while The Absinthe Fairy served a fine tonic or two from her silver tray adding a little fire to the evening. More fairies abounded with the Sparkle Fairy and Wish Fairies adorning the crowd with glitter and good (and not so good) fortune.
All in all, the night was a resounding success for everyone involved, who not only had a fabulous party but also managed to raise over £1000 for the Sara Lee Trust.

Outrageous Decadence would like to extend their thanks to everyone who made it such a brilliant night. Special thanks to the Assembly Rooms team who were the perfect hosts and provided such a marvellous venue.
