AGM – THURSDAY 29 NOVEMBER – NEW CHAIRPERSON REQUIRED

We are looking for a new Chairperson for the Friends of Summerfields Wood. It’s not difficult…if you have 2hrs every 2 months to spare, and wish to help make a real difference to your local green space then this could be for you. Unfortunately at the next AGM Derek Binns the chairperson for Friends of Summerfields Wood group will be resigning from his position. He has done a sterling job within the woods over the last 8 years. He has galvanised the local community into caring for the woods through events, fund raising for projects and clearance work. Through the efforts of the ‘Friends’ and rangers the woods have now become a more inviting and greatly cherished green space visited by many each year. The ‘Friends’ need a new chairperson to keep going as this beautiful Local Nature Reserve with its bluebell woodland, streams, ponds and history
would look a sorry state without people such as you willing to help out.

The position of chair will be the main agenda at the next AGM. Anyone who wishes to be the new chair needs to contact the rangers before Thursday 22nd November. They then need to attend the AGM where they will be asked to offer themselves up to the members and a vote will be taken as to accept the offer.

The Friends of Summerfield’s Wood are holding their AGM on Thursday 29 November from 7pm-8pm at the Dripping Spring Pub, Tower Rd, off Bohemia Road. All are welcome.
