Nicolas new dance studio

Well-known dancing teacher Nicola Rodmell is celebrating twenty years of teaching with a show, Musicals and Broadway, to be held at the Phoenix Arts Centre in Parkstone Road on Saturday 10th May.
She started the Nicola Rodmell School of Performing Arts in 1987, the original studio being in Sedlescombe Road South. In 1992 the school moved to London Road, and it is now moving to a purpose-built studio in St Paul’s School, Amherst Rd. The new studio has real sprung floors and a superb area for performing arts. It re-opens for the summer term on 23rdApril.
Nicola is an Associate of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (AISTD) and an associate of the International Dance Teachers Association (AIDTA). She teaches all ages from three years to adult, right up to professional level, and coaches for exams and festivals.
Several of her pupils took part in the Hastings Music Festival, and had some excellent results. “They have done themselves proud, along with the school, and we are all very proud of them.” said Nicola.
Some of the children she has taught have performed in West End shows, and one girl has recently gone to Disneyland in Tokyo to spend six months as a Disney character. The dancing school does a lot of work raising money for local charities. They also take a dancing group to local nursing and care homes.
