In which Hastings ward does Bohemia lie? While it’s undoubtedly true that most of Bohemia is in Gensing ward,  there are parts of our area which creep into four other wards. For instance, the Indoor Bowls Centre and the Oval in Bohemia Road are actually part of Central St Leonards. Summerfield Sports Centre, the Museum, the Falaise Hall and White Rock Gardens, all in Bohemia Road, are included in Castle Ward. Even St Paul’s School, Amherst Gardens and part of Newgate Road are not considered part of Bohemia – they belong to Braybrooke Ward, along with the Swannery in Alexandra Park, Shornden Reservoir and Shornden Wood. Surely Clarence Road is in Bohemia? Partly yes, but the northern end is in Silverhill ward as is all of Springfield Road, St Matthews Road, Drive, Church and Gardens.
So, which councillors should Bohemians turn to for advice and help? For Gensing ward it is Andrew Cartwright (Lab, 781066) and Kim Forward (Lab, 717390). For Braybrooke ward it is Godfrey Daniel (Lab, 781082) or Dominic Sabetian (Lab, 781022). For Castle ward it’s Peter Armstong (Lib Dem, 430634) or Paul Barlow (Lab, 424678). In Central St Leonards the councillors are Jeremy Birch, (Lab, 781083) and Trevor Webb, (Lab, 781099). Finally, for Silverhill ward, it is Stephen Springthorpe (Indep, 852679) or Matthew J Lock (Con).
