Kims shock at own win

Last month’s election for Gensing ward was a surprise win for Labour’s Kim Forward in a closely-contested struggle between the three women candidates.
Kim said, “ It’s an honour!” She continued “As the votes were being counted and piling up they seemed pretty even. I didn’t expect to win, but I knew I’d mounted a good campaign. I thought, ‘I’ve given it my best shot.’” Fellow candidate Vivienne Bond (Lib Dem) said that Kim went into a state of shock when she realised she’d won, and she, Vivienne, had to restore her. She added, “I’m winding down now and realising I don’t have to deal with dumped rubbish and fly-tipping any more!”
Cath Burrows (Con) said, “ I wish Kim Forward well and hope she looks after the people of Gensing – for the time being!” The results were: Kim Forward (Lab) 526; Vivienne Bond (Lib Dem) 457; Cath Burrows (Con) 435. Kim now shares responsibility for Gensing Ward with Councillor Andrew Cartwright.
