BOHEMIA AREA ASSOCIATION – will be holding its monthy meeting at the YMCA prefab on Thursday 16th October at 7pm. All welcome. Peter Holland,  445086.
BADMINTON CLASSES – now available at Horntye Park. Cathy Bargh (pronounced ‘barge’), pictured right, has started a ‘Junior Badminton Academy’ for 7 to 14 year olds. Just turn up on a Tuesday, with or without a racket, from 4 to 5pm. Cathy: 07931 284064.
BOHEMIA UKULELE BAND – Bohemia Ukulele Band (pictured) – so named after last year’s Bohemia Village Fayre – appeared at Boris Johnson’s ‘Mayor of London Fair’ at Southwark Bridge on Saturday Sept 13th – and later the same day at the South Bank Centre.  The band now has a professional agent and has made several high profile appearances. They were ‘discovered’ when a PR company wanted a ukulele band and spotted their video on My Space. They are now signed to an entertainment agency and are making appearances on the festival circuit.
WOODLAND VALE ROAD –  on Sunday 7 Sep the occupant of a property in Woodland Vale Road returned home to find a man hiding in an upstairs room who then fled from the rear of the building.  It was discovered that a TV and jewellery had been stolen. The man was described as white, short in stature and wearing a blue hooded top. The incident took place just before 10pm. Sussex Police: 0845 6070999, (reference 1666 of the 7th Sept, 2008).
FREE SCOOTER LOCKS – Hastings Police are offering, free of charge, a limited number of scooter locks to the public in a gesture to help combat the number of scooter thefts that have occurred in our town recently. The disc locks are suitable for scooters and motorcycles up to 125cc. They are available free from Hastings Police Station front office, Bohemia Road. Simply bring along your log book and insurance details – without these two documents you will not be able to have a lock. The locks have been funded by the Safer Hastings Partnership.
