Q. Dave – I read a newspaper every day but I’m bored with it. Can you help? Anita Harris (Mr).
Dave writes: I can’t tell from your question whether you are weary of the world and all its seemingly insoluble problems or just too tight to replace the newspaper. If you are re-reading the same one every day, leave it alone until you have forgotten what’s in it or plunder someone’s recycling bin for some fresh material. My uncle Caleb used to sit naked on his paper until the ink transferred to his buttocks and then would read the articles using a mirror on a stick. He was grossly overweight and could do two pages of broadsheet in one sitting. If you must continue reading the same paper, this technique would make it more of a challenge.
