Line & watercolour work by David Hobbs

An exhibition of recent work by David Hobbs and Alma Hobbs opens at the Empress Art Gallery, Tower Road, St. Leonards, on Monday 3rd. November and runs until 24th December 2008.
David is an illustrator and specialises in hand-drawn line and water-colour maps, which have appeared in national magazines and publications. An exhibition such as this however, gives him the opportunity to show more personal work inspired by the local landscape, architecture and wildlife, which feature prominently in the works on show.
Alma, having retired from teaching, now has the opportunity to take up painting again. The recent acquisition of larger studio space has also enabled her to explore and produce more varied work. She paints mainly in acrylics on canvas and her subject-matter includes cats, gardens and landscape.
