Evergreen Cliffs evergreen (well, eversilver) trees for sale

A chance meeting in Polegate led to a marvellous opportunity  for Alison Ansell and her Christmas Shop. Innovative Alison, of Cheap and Cheerful in Bohemia Road, got talking to the man who used to  organise Cliff Richard’s Tennis Classic event in Birmingham.
“Every year Cliff has this charity event, and the man I met gets Christmas trees to put on the stage,” explained Alison. “Cliff has retired from doing it now, and the man was selling the trees off.. They’re really nice [see picture, below] and they’ve only ever been used for one evening a year.”
The Christmas shop, on the corner of Bohemia Road and Newgate Road, is now open daily, run by Alison, Terry, and Alison’s husband Paul.
“We’ve also got a lady called Wendy starting on 25th November on work experience. She’s been bringing up her children so she hasn’t been in work for a while.”
Wendy’s work experience placement was arranged by New Deal. “Two ladies from Tomorrow’s People came and checked out everything with a fine-toothed comb. I gave Wendy a proper interview, and she’ll be with us for thirteen weeks. William, one of my twins, will be coming to work here on Saturdays”.
Alison, Paul and Terry have been working hard to get a grotto ready for Father Christmas, who will be visiting the shop every Friday and Saturday except the twelfth, when he has an engagement elsewhere.
