On a warm Wednesday afternoon in the middle of May, the Voice offices stood quiet and deserted – the staff were all gathered for a celebratory lunch at  Horntye Park’s Cornwallis Suite to mark the newsmag’s first two years of existence.
Publisher John Humph-ries started the magazine in May 2006 as an email-only service, with new editions appearing every week. After a few months, A4 copies were printed and distributed by hand to local streets. In February 2007, the office in Bohemia Road was opened, the format of the magazine was changed to A5, advertising was actively sought and the print run increased to 6,000. Julian Beecroft joined the Voice at this time as assistant editor and is now our consultant editor. Susan King took over as assistant editor and advertising sales manager last summer. Pam Brown looks after our accounts. For many months John E Humphries was the Voice’s proofreader, but now does our book reviews – Sheila Shepheard is our current proofreader. Imogen joined us this year as a researcher. Our website designer is Suchart Thittichai. We went live earlier this year and website manager Leah Davidson has been updating the text and pictures of all past editions of the Voice.
Our sincere thanks go to all the staff, advertisers and everyone else, who have supported us so well.
