Aldborogh Road Marie starting own fitness class at St Pauls

Local girl Marie Dove, who managed to get her weight down from 18 stone to 12 stone will be starting her own diet and fitness class at St Paul’s School, in September.
Marie was born in the Buchanan Hospital in London Road, and has lived in Bohemia all her life, formerly in Clarence Road and now in Aldborough Road. As a child she attended St Paul’s School, and later worked in Alldays. “I love Bohemia, “ she says, “ It’s just my home. I’d never live anywhere else.”
Marie knows what it’s like to make the effort to lose weight, and that’s what prompted her to help others. At her biggest she was 18 stone and size 22 in clothes. She managed to get her weight down to 16 stone, then joined a Rosemary Conley class in January 2006, reducing her weight to 12 stone and size 12/14. Her ultimate aim for herself is 11 stone.
She confesses to having felt very nervous when she first went along to the Rosemary Conley class herself. When she discovered that the instructors had been in the same boat themselves, she felt much more at ease. “It was a great help, “ she said. “That’s what I want to do myself. Being such a local girl, lots of people know me and have seen me lose weight. If they come along to the class, they’ll know that I understand.”
Last October, when her baby girl was four months old, Marie enrolled on a YMCA Fitness Industry training course, passing the necessary exams to become an instructor in July. She is now a YMCA Fit Qualified Aerobic Instructor and an Exercise to Music Studio Instructor. As we go to press, (August), she is about to go up to Leicester to do further training with Rosemary Conley in person.
Marie will be starting a Rosemary Conley Diet and Fitness class at St Paul’s School, Horntye Road, on Tuesday 16th September.
