Several local residents noticed that their black sacks weren’t being collected until late in the day, leaving their roads looking dirty and untidy. It emerged that the Council’s contractor, Veolia, had reduced the number of refuse freighters without consulting the Council. Cllr Cartwright was pleased to report, (Feb 16), that “the withdrawn freighter has been reinstated”.
