In January, a new bric-a-brac shop opened its doors in Bohemia, in the premises formerly occupied by Hastings Cycles. The new business, “Misty’s”, situated on the corner of Newgate Road and Bohemia Road, is being run by mother-of-four (grown-up) children Terri and David Whoriskey of Clarence Road. The shop is open Mon-Sat 8.30am to 4pm. ‘Rush hours’ are the morning and afternoon school times. At present, the shop is staffed just by Terri, but “David will soon be working here on Saturdays”.
“The area needed a shop like this; with the recession, people just haven’t got so much money”. Prices are very reasonable indeed: paperback books from just 20p, all children’s clothes, 50p, adults’ clothes, £1. Items required by the shop include furniture, clothes, bric-a-brac and other household goods. Why is the shop called ‘Misty’s’? “It’s named after my cat”, said Terri.
