Woolworths’ Earrings, sixpence.
May Fisher writes (Sep 2009)
Dear Editor,
I’m writing to tell you of my unusual earrings, which I bought from Woolworths in Kings Road, St Leonards in the 1940s. I found them tucked away in my jewellery box when I was sorting things out.
They were so pretty that I wore them to my 90th birthday party, January 2009. They only cost 6d, as everything then was. I got them photographed by my son, as being enlarged (picture) you can see the figure cast on them and I would like to know what it is, – Chinese or Thai?
They are made of pewter, I think.
Mrs May Fisher, Holmesdale Gdns.
