Free swimming – for the over 60s, at any rate. Increasing numbers of elderly residents are taking advantage of free swimming sessions at Summerfields Leisure Centre in Bohemia Road. There must be forms to fill in? No – just turn up with some proof of age, such as driver’s licence or passport and join any public swimming sessions – simple.  Alternatively, you can buy a year’s pass for £2 which is ‘swiped’ each time you attend. The pool is open for adult use as follows:
Mon:     6.15am to 6.00pm     Closed 10.30-11.30
Tue:     6.15am to 8.30pm     Closed 10-12; 4-6pm
Wed: 6.15am to 8.30pm    Closed 11-12
Thur: 6.15am to 6.00pm    
Fri:     6.15am to 6.00pm    Closed 11-12; 1.30-2.30
Sat:  10.30am to 2.30pm    
Sun:     9.30am to 7.00pm
