Hastings Borough Council is keen to introduce ‘communal bins’ into Bohemia. It is HBC’s ‘preferred option’. But is it the preferred option of the residents of Bohemia? Two St Peter’s Road residents have conducted their own survey by collecting signatures for petitions against the bins.  Returns for St Peter’s Road show that 85% of those who expressed an opinion were against the introduction of communal bins. The response from Newgate Road was very similar – see story page 13, and ‘The Ugly Truth’, page 14.
\nThe Council’s original ‘survey’ in November, quickly became a farce when it semed they were more interested in one’s sexual orientation than in gathering opinions about their bin proposals – see story page 12.
\nCouncillor Andrew Cartwright has been closely following this matter and says the Council is giving residents ‘no choice’ (page 12), and with Cllr Kim Forward sets out detailed observations on the way the Council is handling the ‘consultation’ (Letters, page 4).
