Heritage Open Day & Restore the Wall Launch<\/b>\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sunday September 15th <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

10am-3pm<\/p>\n

You are invited to the Heritage Open Day & Restore the Wall Launch. This is a great chance to find out more about the garden, meet other members, and pool our resources and contacts to help drive forward the wall restoration. The walled garden is a reminder of how food was grown in Victorian times.\u00a0It is a piece of horticultural history that deserves to be restored, not only to show how things were done in the past but also to provide an ideal place for growing plants today. Until the wall is repaired, we cannot with safety use all the available space in the garden. We have more plans to use this “oasis”, this place of calm, for educational and cultural events. But until the wall is repaired, we are unable to make full use of this wonderful woodland enclosure. We have lots of lovely things lined up for the Heritage Open Day & Restore the Wall Launch to help raise funds for this!<\/p>\n

\u25aa Bees and Sussex wildlife trust gardening for wildlife\u00a0talk 12 & 1pm<\/p>\n

\u25aa Icehouse open 10-1pm<\/p>\n

\u25aa Tea and home-made cakes<\/p>\n

\u25aa Raffle: main prize hamper of seasonal BWG produce<\/p>\n

\u25aa Hand-made craft and home-grown produce stalls<\/p>\n

\u25aa Art activity for all ages – potato printing with local artist, Beccy McCray<\/p>\n

If you would like to contribute towards any of the stalls please do get in touch. We are looking for quality handmade goods and homegrown produce to help raise funds for the garden e.g. produce, herbs, home brews, flowers, lavender, chutney, jam, cakes, savouries, gardening or food related goods. We are also looking for helpers to lend a hand on the cake stall! So please join us and bring friends & family. Spread the word – email, tweet, blog, shout!<\/p>\n
