TREES<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Silver Birch is dainty,<\/p>\n

She has a satin bark,<\/p>\n

And in the summertime<\/p>\n

She\u2019s the home of the Lark.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The leaves are small and plentiful,<\/p>\n

Scattered along the twigs,<\/p>\n

They grow so profusely<\/p>\n

But they\u2019re never very big.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The trunk is very slender,<\/p>\n

Holding branches high,<\/p>\n

The birds fly from it, winging<\/p>\n

Into the true blue sky.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Elm has almost disappeared<\/p>\n

From England\u2019s country lanes,<\/p>\n

The trouble was a little mite<\/p>\n

That ate into the veins.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It made the leaves fall off,<\/p>\n

And the branches all turned bare,<\/p>\n

The wind blew them along the ground<\/p>\n

To leave them resting there.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The sturdy Oak is known by all<\/p>\n

In England\u2019s countryside,<\/p>\n

Its wood made ships of long ago,<\/p>\n

Which were the nation\u2019s pride.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Weeping Willow looks so sad<\/p>\n

As over the river it stands,<\/p>\n

Its branches all bow over<\/p>\n

To the water, from the land.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Cedar is a stately tree,<\/p>\n

Lebanon is its home,<\/p>\n

Many of them were cut down<\/p>\n

To build Solomon\u2019s throne.<\/p>\n
