{"id":26083,"date":"1980-12-21T18:17:26","date_gmt":"1980-12-21T18:17:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bohemiavillage.com\/?p=26083"},"modified":"2013-07-09T16:38:42","modified_gmt":"2013-07-09T15:38:42","slug":"john-hodgson-autumn-leaves","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.bohemiavillage.com\/?p=26083","title":{"rendered":"John Hodgson &#8211; Autumn Leaves"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From\u00a0<a title=\"Bohemia Bouquet\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bohemiavillage.com\/?p=25494\"><em>Bohemian Bouquet<\/em><\/a>, published 1980 by The Bohemians.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Autumn Leaves<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Golden brown and red, the autumn leaves,<\/p>\n<p>Fall gently to caress the earth from which they came,<\/p>\n<p>As if to wave goodbye to summer,<\/p>\n<p>And provide a carpet for the winter\u2019s snow and rain.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The trees grow bare now and await first frost,<\/p>\n<p>While those who care as I,<\/p>\n<p>Recount yet one more season come, and lost.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Remembering the white tipped buds of spring that turned into blossom,<\/p>\n<p>The summer sun, the laden boughs of green,<\/p>\n<p>That bent beneath the gusts of wind and rain,<\/p>\n<p>The birds that sang, the squirrels\u2019 antics in the wood and lane.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As casually we kick the leafy mound,<\/p>\n<p>And wend our way through this our God\u2019s creation,<\/p>\n<p>And watch the leaves fall gently to the ground,<\/p>\n<p>And wait for yet another generation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Will we not be lucky?
