AGM \u2013 THURSDAY 29 NOVEMBER \u2013 NEW CHAIRPERSON REQUIRED<\/p>\n
We are looking for a new Chairperson for the Friends of Summerfields Wood.\u00a0It\u2019s not difficult\u2026if you have 2hrs every 2 months to spare, and wish to help\u00a0make a real difference to your local green space then this could be for you.\u00a0Unfortunately at the next AGM Derek Binns the\u00a0chairperson for Friends of Summerfields Wood group will be resigning from his position. He has\u00a0done a sterling job within the woods over the last 8\u00a0years. He has galvanised the local community into\u00a0caring for the woods through events, fund raising for\u00a0projects and clearance work. Through the efforts of\u00a0the \u2018Friends\u2019 and rangers the woods have now\u00a0become a more inviting and greatly cherished green\u00a0space visited by many each year.\u00a0The \u2018Friends\u2019 need a new chairperson to keep going\u00a0as this beautiful Local Nature Reserve with its\u00a0bluebell woodland, streams, ponds and history
\nwould look a sorry state without people such as you\u00a0willing to help out.<\/p>\n
The position of chair will be the main agenda at the next AGM. Anyone who wishes to be\u00a0the new chair needs to contact the rangers before Thursday 22nd November. They then\u00a0need to attend the AGM where they will be asked to offer themselves up to the\u00a0members and a vote will be taken as to accept the offer.<\/p>\n
The Friends of Summerfield\u2019s\u00a0Wood are holding their AGM on Thursday 29 November from 7pm-8pm at the Dripping\u00a0Spring Pub, Tower Rd, off Bohemia Road. All are welcome.<\/p>\n
