{"id":12195,"date":"2010-01-27T18:52:42","date_gmt":"2010-01-27T17:52:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bohemiavillage.com\/?p=12195"},"modified":"2013-03-26T18:18:27","modified_gmt":"2013-03-26T18:18:27","slug":"letters-110","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.bohemiavillage.com\/?p=12195","title":{"rendered":"Bird &#038; Crescent Moon Sculpture Stolen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Lewis Nicholls<\/strong> writes (May 2009)<\/p>\n<p>Dear Sir,<\/p>\n<p>As a regular out-of-area reader of the <em>Village Voice<\/em>, I wonder if you could mention details of a Queens Road theft at the beginning of February of an original sculpture created by my aunt Margaret (1901-1990).<\/p>\n<p>Around 1960, she constructed a sculpture for her own garden in the form of a stylised bird silhouetted against a crescent moon. \u2018Bird &amp; Crescent Moon\u2019 was constructed on an arbor of \u00bc\u201d steel rod set into a terracotta plant pot with cement. The arbor carries glass fibre and resin of a greenish blue hue. It is 3 feet high, and very much weathered.<\/p>\n<p>This loss has a crime number (EH1\/01124\/09) and I would be more than a little interested to hear of any sightings, whether or not in moonlight silhouette, from any bird twitchers or from fellow <em>Village Voice<\/em> readers.<\/p>\n<p>Lewis Nicholls, Queens Road.
