Battle of Hastings revisited

Edward Preston

Edward Preston

Edward Preston’s popular and well-established series of local history lectures, Pieces of the Past, kicks off with “The Battle and Hastings” at the Durbar Hall, Hastings Museum on Monday 19th May at 10. 30 am. There are 16 new talks for Edward’s 16th year, which will take place every Monday morning until 1st Sept at the Museum, in Bohemia Road, admission free.
If you think you know everything about local history in Hastings and St Leonards, Edward’s talks will be an eye-opener. A true professional, he always goes to the original sources to get his facts, so he digs up lots of interesting information and snippets which really bring history to life, and never falls into the common trap of repeating the mistakes of others. Not only is Edward an expert in his field, he is also witty, a brilliant raconteur, and has the ability to keep his audiences in the palm of his hand. Newcomers might be startled to find him suddenly breaking into song, while those who have been before will know that he has a lovely voice. Whether you are a novice, or an old hand, you’ll have a thoroughly enjoyable morning as well.
